As David and the kids continued to get settled in to school/work/life in Waitati, I flew north to join my University of Auckland colleagues in the field for 10 days. The flight out of Dunedin is one I would do several times over the course of the year to
come - each time I sat glued to the window of the small Air New Zealand
plane, soaking up the beauty of NZ from yet another angle.
So cool how small and recognizable this country is! This shot is right near our house - the part above is the Otago Peninsula (with the albatross colony at the left most tip). The long narrow bit that juts straight out is the Aramoana pier. And if you follow the beaches down and around (down and out of the picture) you come to our little town of Waitati.
