Birthday David - Part 2

After a long, great, and exhausting day at the Waitati Music Festival, we headed to the Otago Peninsula, where we rented an airbnb for our one homeless night, in between houses at Waitati. Otago Peninsula is beautiful - wonderful winding roads, right by the water's edge.

We arrived late, tired and hungry. Only to find that our airbnb had been rented to someone else (!). Turned out our host had mistakenly double booked it, through two different sites. But she was great, she quickly vacated her own house, and let us stay there. A night of musical houses indeed....

Her house was lovely, full of bits and pieces from her many travels....
We were greeted with fresh eggs and homemade chocolate muffins.

Gwen loved the miniature, old fashioned fridge.

I loved these two well worn, inviting armchairs.

A cool vintage car out back.

And a lovely, overflowing garden.

So despite a little upheaval, it turned out to be a cozy haven for the night.
