Habia dos niños en un barco...

Lots of wonderful help from Graciela this week. She's got a new game she plays with the kids. They pile into the hammock and become two kids in a boat on the ocean with a strong wind, the boat begins to move, and move....

...and the kids dissolve into giggles, then ask for more, more, and on it goes, again and again!

New Orleans

David just left for New Orleans for Jazz Fest - friends, family, etouffee, jambalaya, beignets, and lots and lots of incredible music. Meanwhile, the kids and I are carrying on in Panama. Gwendolyn has been really sad anticipating her dad's trip, but she's holding together pretty well now. I keep telling Gwendolyn that this is a time that she needs to be really helpful and take good care of her little brother.

She sometimes really takes this role on - this morning for instance, she dressed Simon (note their matching headbands and necklaces), and then read to him. They then did collages together, she helped him cut out all the hard parts. Super sweet. Followed by a collapse - both running around, shrieking, grabbing for the same thing and then dissolving in tears when they couldn't get it. Ayyyyy - so it goes?
