Given that by the end of our journey we will have driven nearly the full length of both the North and South Islands, quite a bit of it on small, windy, car-sick inducing mountain roads, it's a pretty amazing accomplishment that we made it this whole way with just one vomit....

Turangi
Continuing to make our way south - through beautiful inland country, driving the length of gorgeous Lake Taupo. Much excitement over our first view of a snow-capped peak. But the most memorable part of this next leg of the trip was Simon. Pulling into Turangi, a small town on the south end of Lake Taupo, Simon abruptly was consumed by intense car sickness. We just made it out of the car, to an eruption of copious, pink (reflecting a previous smoothie) vomit. But here he is in the town playground, just minutes later. Resilient kid.
Given that by the end of our journey we will have driven nearly the full length of both the North and South Islands, quite a bit of it on small, windy, car-sick inducing mountain roads, it's a pretty amazing accomplishment that we made it this whole way with just one vomit....
