There and back again, a Page-Bethel tale :)

After a very long hiatus, we are finally (finally!) back online again!! In a new country, with a new set of adventures. We spent a crazily hectic couple weeks in early Dec, madly packing up our house and our lives in Panama, followed by a wonderful Christmas holiday with Taisie/Toby/Sam/Jess/Maddie/Max in LA. And then, on Jan 1, 2017 we boarded an airplane for Auckland, embarking on a sabbatical in New Zealand. In the year to come, we're going to try to detail our lives as temporary kiwis.

 A 12 1/2 hour non-stop flight, from LA to Auckland. Which wasn't nearly as bad as we thought. We arrived in amazingly good shape.

Without too much trouble at all, we collected our mountain of luggage. David amazed me by not once but twice navigating from the rental car agency to our airbnb in Devonport - across the entire city of Auckland, and on the left side of the road! Terrifying and incredible. Twice because all of our luggage didn't fit into our rental car, and once we arrived at our airbnb, David had to drive all the way back to the airport again to pick up the rest of the suitcases.

 

One night of sleep and a good meal later, we were ready to explore. Amazing how quickly and easily you can step out of one world and into another!
