Nelson

We spent the next week or so in and around Nelson. We thought for sure this is where we would settle, but it seemed like everyone else had the same idea! We struggled to find any furnished houses for rent, and the ones we did find were really expensive.

January in NZ, and summer was in full swing... (as I'm writing this post. months later, in the midst of winter in Waitati, it's hard to believe it was so warm - strange having the seasons in reverse!)

 

A cool cathedral with a boat mast in front (the nautical/sailing theme throughout). Nelson was beautiful, and we had fun exploring it. Another place it would have been nice to settle. But on we went....
