These tiny ferns growing on the roots of our mahogany tree make the most amazing transformation - from one hour to the next they go from being brown and shriveled (they seem to be able to rest dormant in this state for months) to turning vibrantly beautifully lush green. All it takes is one heavy afternoon rain.
