After so many months of quarantine - and after the nail-biting week of the US election turmoil - we decided we were ready for the beach! The last day the kids were in the city was March 12 (that was Gwen actually, who did one last grocery shop with David just before the shutdown began; Simon's last city day was quite a bit before...).
242 days without leaving Gamboa!!!!
It was the first time really out for all of us and we were so curious to see how everyone was acting. It was so impressive and amazing to see nearly everyone on the streets wearing masks - it was hard to find anyone not wearing a mask. Even people driving all alone in their cars were wearing masks...! We picked Playa Malibu, a beach that never has too many people. There was only one small group there when we arrived. We walked to our favorite spot, about a mile up the beach, where the Rio Chame meets the Pacific Ocean. And had the beach to ourselves. We had felt so strange leaving home but the whole excursion felt safer and more isolated than many of our dog walks in Gamboa.
And it was wonderful! What immense sense of freedom! Exhilaration! Relaxation....
So, so much appreciated...
Looks fantastic.
