Keys!

For more than a year now, we've been in the process of buying a house in Panama. The government of Panama is selling a bunch of the old canal houses in Gamboa to the Smithsonian, which is in turn selling them to its employees. Lots of bureaucracy and red tape from two different governments - but finally last week a breakthrough - we got our keys!

We finally got a chance to have a thorough look at the inside of the house - lots of work to do, but kind of exciting too.

Here's what it looks like from the outside.

And here's the view from the house looking down the street.

Some of the long awaited shots of the inside.

And right outside the back windows, this aracari and this toucan out to welcome us - I took these to be a good sign.
