Here's an older post I never quite got to. A school field trip to Telvinia's village. Just a short boat ride from Gamboa, the community of San Antonio is still very traditional, following the Woonan/Embera way of life.
The kids got a chance to see the traditional houses, dances, crafts. But perhaps most enjoyed meeting Telvinia's pet parrot.
They did not seem at all phased at seeing their preschool teacher in traditional dress, and made themselves right at home in the community soccer field.
Field trips just aren't the same in Burbank.
