Birthday - Preschool

Last week Gwendolyn turned three! We had a two part birthday - Friday at her preschool, and Saturday, an excursion with her friends. After quite a lot of discussion, she decided she wanted a Uniqua cake (believe me, we tried may other - simpler! - suggestions first). If you don't have the pleasure of knowing who Uniqua is, you can read about her here.

David searched online, and found a pretty easy set of directions - here's the completed pink wonder.

To my dismay, it was not immediately recognized at school. I was greeted instead with delighted shrieks of "cool, a crab cake!" and "a moose!". Finally one child (not Gwendolyn) said, "Is that Uniqua?" (David thinks my antenna were too fat.)

Nonetheless, the kids were very happy with it.

Even Simon sat down for a closer view.

The highlight of the party, however, was unplanned and unexpected - the rare sighting of a tractor in Gamboa, clearly an event worthy of careful observation.
